Mattias Pencil Drawings
I try to capture light and atmosphere in my pencil drawings. I aim to strike a nerve in the viewer (you), to raise a feeling. My name is Mattias Wirf and I'm an artists living in Sweden. I hope you'll have a great experience looking through the gallery, or even get inspired to draw.
At the moment I'm working on a portrait-drawing of a weddingcouple.
Passion for light
I work with light in drawings, portraits and photography. Where I live light effects us a lot. The summernights never really get dark and the winter doesn't hold daylight for long. My home is in a place called "the blue hills". I'm fascinated by historical architecture which uses light. That's who I am. Sometimes my drawings are realistic sometimes abstract - that doesn't really matter.
Portraits with soul
I like to capture the essence of my motif, the personality of people I draw. My pencils are not used for photorealism, for that I use cameras. I like it ruff, leaving something for the imagination, gladely on grained paper.
Pencil portaits are great as a gift for your friends wedding, birthday-party or just as a personlized present.
